Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that ChipACarp uses. We keep this deliberately simple: we use only what’s needed to run the website and app and to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

What we use

• Sign-in / session — when you log in to the manager platform or angler app, we store a secure token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in. Without it, you’d have to log in on every page.
• Preferences — small values that remember choices such as a scanned lake or a dismissed onboarding step, so the app behaves the way you left it.
• Security — storage used to protect your account and the Service (for example, passkey/WebAuthn credentials held by your device).
• Payments — when you check out, Stripe may set cookies it needs to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. These are set by Stripe under its own privacy policy.

What we don’t use

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no selling of your data. Because we only use storage that’s strictly necessary to provide the service you’ve asked for, we don’t need to show an intrusive consent banner — but you’re always in control (see below).

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. If you clear our sign-in storage you’ll simply be logged out and will need to sign in again. Blocking Stripe’s cookies may stop checkout from working.

Changes

If we ever add anything beyond strictly necessary storage — for example analytics — we’ll update this page and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
