ChipACarp is part of the Lakelytics family — a small, family-run team building modern tools for fisheries.
ChipACarp comes from the same family-run team behind Lakelytics, our water-quality monitoring platform. Our founder, Adam Jones, has worked in technology since 2009 — software, data and monitoring systems — and kept hearing the same thing from friends and family who run and fish lakes.
They knew their waters held special fish, but they couldn’t always prove it. Records lived in notebooks, phones and memory. A prized common would come out at a new weight and no one could say for sure it was the same fish, when it was last caught, or how it had grown. And every so often, fish went missing.
Why we built it
Tagging has been used in fisheries and research for decades — it just hadn’t been made simple and modern for the everyday carp lake. So we built ChipACarp: the hardware to tag your fish, and an app and platform that turn each tag into a living record. Anglers log catches in seconds, managers see their whole stock at a glance, and stolen fish get flagged network-wide.
